Play Reading
The process of getting a play to the stage
for public performance begins with reading plays, also known as 'Table
Readings' or 'Dramatic Readings'.
Play Reading Committee meets on the
1st Monday of the month.
We start at
7:30pm
and usually go for about 1-1/2 hours, with a coffee break in between Acts.
Play readings are a perfect way to introduce
yourself, or re-introduce yourself to community theatre. We encourage
budding & experienced Actors, Directors and creative people of all
persuasions to come out to a play reading - laugh and enjoy!
Phone Rivercity Players at 250.202.2217,
leave us a message with your name and phone number and we will phone you
back with information about the next play reading date and answer any
questions you may have.
We really look forward to having you "Come
Play with Us!"

TUESDAY,
AUGUST 3rd, 2010
6:30 pm
Dear Members,
Below find a
synopsis for Tuesday, August 3rd's Play Reading selection. Please come out
and not only have fun and gain experience reading scripts but also have
valuable input into the next year's season.
6:30 pm at the
Clubhouse.
"Who's on First" is a dark
comedy about a fateful night when a jealous husband kills his wife's would-be lover; and a wish on a
magic lamp causes the night to be relived over and over again, until they "get it right"!
The cast calls for two men and two women, but as
this will possibly be our entry to festival, I encourage people to also come out and listen and give their opinion
of the play. It is an extremely challenging play for the actors and stage crew, but could be a real winner.
Cheers,
Bill Walton
Play Reading Director
